Key Tasks / Responsibilities

This role is within the Operations department of Micros Fidelio UK Ltd, providing Project Management for the delivery of customer’s solutions with a particular focus on our own suite of PMS and POS applications.

You will be responsible for managing virtual teams of application, system and network installers/engineers together with numerous third party (external) project team members. This is a demanding role with plenty of scope for initiative and self-development. You must be able to manage your own time and work with minimum supervision and be able to deliver and report on projects you have undertaken as well as managing the daily activities within the teams.

Though the majority of installations will not require any complex knowledge, it is expected that you will be involved in specific intricate customer solutions at an early stage covering project implementation and resource activities, and be able to present clear and achievable project plans for the delivery of such projects for which this role will be responsible.

Ensuring technical provisioning processes are documented and maintained

Taking over and understanding solution sales processes to ensure that you are able to complete advanced planning for resource as well as hardware, software and service procurement

  • Ensuring that all aspects of customer projects are delivered on time and within the agreed budget
  • Delivering project plans for complicated installations ensuring diligence in the following areas: Scope, Schedule, Resource and Budgetary management
  • Ensuring that the Technical Implementation teams deliver installations to agreed time and cost framework
  • Reporting milestones
  • Liaising with Sales, Installations and Technical teams to ensure smooth management of customer installations and expectations
  • Organising the prioritisation of customers’ projects to ensure efficient use of available resources
  • Ensuring that external 3rd parties participation in our customers’ projects are booked to attend our customers’ sites at the adequate time within our project plan
  • Returning to Support the 3rd party support agreements for customers’ equipment
  • Conducting work reviews, monitoring adherence to plan and directing the staff in your teams
  • Ensuring Micros Fidelio UK Ltd own equipment, when used away from base, is tracked and retained at contract end
  • Attending training courses deemed to be beneficial to your performance or skill
  • Carrying out any reasonable requests from management
  • Occasional stay away from home required
  • Adhering to company procedures, especially those on fire, health & Safety and security

Skills & Experience

  • Exceptional organisational, planning and management skills employing appropriate tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel etc
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to deliver effective and appropriate communication to all stake holders
  • A formal approach to Project Management, preferably with PRINCE 2 methodology at its core
  • Proven operational experience in delivering and/or supporting IT technologies
  • Be able to demonstrate a full understanding of the technical solutions and design concepts behind services such as PMS, EPOS and centralised applications to the Hotel, catering and leisure industries
  • Have a technical familiarity on the installation and configuration of hardware such as Cisco routers, switches, servers, and PCWS. However hands-on skills will be within your teams and product knowledge with the various product managers.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Good analytical and numeric skills are essential together with a strong focus on controlling costs and revenues.
  • Ability to deal with both highly technical and non-technical customers and members of staff across the organisation
  • Ability to deal and communicate with both Senior Managers (including Managing Directors) and users in our customers’ organisations
