Following the international trend to preserve our economy and save energy we did create dStore GreenPOS.
Usually cash register systems and peripherals are switched on 24hours a day and therefore they do waste a lot of energy.
dStore GreenPOS offers the functionality to switch on / off cash register systems under full control by our POS software dStore. Usually there is no necessity to have cash registers running the whole night as they need only to be switched on for data updates.
dStore GreenPOS a new software module of dStore will switch off the registers as requested and switch them on again for the period of data updates.
This method results in preserving valuable energy, protects our environment and saves cost.
Every retail company can add its own share to sustainability in an elegant and easy way!
Together with our customers we compile a schedule to define the on / off times of each cash
register and each peripheral component. dStore GreenPOS controls the execution of that
switch on / switch off cycle. Functionality of dStore GreenPOS can be enhanced by using IP-switchable mains connectors.
dStore GreenPOS requires following components:
Cash register CPU
- wake-on-lan (WOL) has to be supported and activated in the BIOS – power supply must not be disconnected from the mains
- ACPI / APM status S5 – entering S5 state has to be supported by software
Cash register peripherals
- peripherals powered by the cash register (powered USB or powered V24, CPU box will be used for the supply)
- energy of the periphery (master-slave-frame connector – CPU Box => Master)
